A word with the Impossible Burger guy.
(Science Week, day 4!)
I scanned the episode names of David Pogue's Unsung Science podcast, and some had me asking "is this really about science?". My definition for the purposes of Science Week is about as broad as one reasonably gets, but I doubt it includes a look at audio description tracks for TV shows (as cool as those are), or "Where Emoji Come From" (unless Emoji are churned into existence alongside hydrogen within stars or something).
But I've always thought that developing alternatives to animal products fell cleanly within it, and I enjoyed listening so much that for today I've selected the episode in which Pogue chats with Pat Brown, the founder of Impossible Foods, who thinks replacing meat is not only a potential improvement for human dining, but essential to addressing climate change.
