Science Week 2022.
My primary holiday of the year is days away!
I was puzzled by the endless, unduly profound celebrations of mere superstitions and traditions, all of which I've long shed, so I decided to celebrate something that really is profound, wonderful, and central to our existence and well-being: science.
Anyone can participate! To join me, think about any idea, concept, discovery, or figure related to science or the natural universe, and share a short post on social media, or on your own site, about why you're enthused by it, on February 12. (If hashtags are appropriate on your platforms of choice, use "#ScienceWeek".)
If you're as inclined as me, share one post each day for a total of seven! (As an example, here are my posts from 2021.) That could be an exercise if science and nature aren't at the front of your mind every day, but that's part of the point – we breathe air, we have medicine, we use devices to transmit information like this paragraph. We benefit from science in many ways at every moment, and such an exercise shows appreciation for those efforts and that underlying process of discovery. Yeah!
If you participate, feel free to link me to your post and I'll share the link.
See you on February 12! And, once again: here’s to finding things out.
